UAW Strike - Surviving the Aftermath
In 2021 & 2022, employees led companies to the greatest 2 years of profitability in 70 years. CEOs granted themselves raises from 16-30%. Consequently, employees have been revolting since the Pandemic 2020. First with the Great Resignation, Quiet Quitting, Unionization and now Strikes-Work Stoppages.
The UAW Strike 2023 is the longest in 25 years, creating a $200 million shutdown cost WEEKLY with a third of membership striking. There will be a plethora of trends remaining when the UAW Strike 2023 is over.

The Michigan Information Technology Industry Cluster Workforce Analysis 2022 identified 22 jobs that make up this cluster that grew at a rate of 22% from 2011 -2021, a much faster pace than the total statewide employment growth of 7.4%.
The average annual salaries in Information Technology increased by more than 30%, from $75,500 in 2011 to $98,700 in 2021.
Although young people ages 19-24 have been tech-savvy consumers in the past decade, they only comprise 6.9% of the information technology workforce. African Americans comprise 7.6% of this workforce.
While this cluster has a projected growth of 8.8%, the growth could be even more exponential as electric vehicle, battery and semi-conductor plants need to fill new jobs.
